The push to get the US Tower MA-40 vertical within a year was in full swing. I had started digging the foundation on MLK weekend 2022. James N7ELL, Rick W7STS, Randy K7NNT, Marcia K7AZM, and Evan helped with the final installation steps and we were able to get it on the air. The tower is topped by a Yaesu G-800DXA rotor with K4KIO Hex Beam antenna. When cranked up, the base of the antenna is approximately 45′ above ground and 29′ when in the lowered position. Having the 2nd antenna over my 43′ vertical will provide directional Tx/Rx as well as allow for S02R with my Flex 6600M. I plan to create a video documenting the installation and report performance later, stay tuned.
